Don Doody and Clay Shaw

Don Doody (sometimes misspelled as Dooty) was friend of Clay Shaw. Does anyone know his exact relationship with Shaw?

Don Doody served in the Air Force in an intelligence position. He also knew Russian. He had traveled to Cuba, and in 1963, he traveled to Mexico City. For several months before Shaw's death, Doody filled the job of a sitter while Shaw rapidly declined in health.

But does anyone know their real relationship?

Donald Doody was my mom’s first cousin. He seems to have lived a very interesting life. He was a genius. Fluent in Russian. Lots of degrees. Air Force intelligence. Other intelligence agencies too ;)
